Obituary for Bonnie Elaine Pullen (Bridgman)

Bonnie Bridgman Pullen, 68, of Mansfield, TX, went to be with Jesus on December 22, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held January 14, 2022, at the Midlothian Funeral Home in Midlothian, TX, at 11:00 AM.

She was born to James and Ruth Bridgman in Ottumwa, IA, on April 17, 1953, as the fourth of six children.

Bonnie married William “Bill” Pullen on April 8, 1983, in Odessa, TX. She had one daughter, Taffi Loving, from a previous marriage. Her husband, daughter, and her dogs, were the loves of her life.

Bonnie worked for Shell Oil Co. from May 5, 1975 to February 28, 2007. She was the first woman hired at the Odessa, TX, refinery, as a lab technician- something she was very proud of. When the refinery closed in 1998, she moved to Prairieville, LA to continue her career at the Convent refinery. But another opportunity opened up in 2000 in Houston, TX, when Bonnie was promoted to a Quality Control Specialist and was able to spend the remainder of her career with Shell traveling to help train and support other technicians test jet fuel. Being able to live anywhere with this new position, she and her husband moved to Midland, TX, in 2001 and then Benbrook, TX, in 2005 to be closer to her daughter who lives in Mansfield, TX.

In 2007, Bonnie took a retirement package to spend time with her mother, who had recently moved to Benbrook, but she sadly passed away one week after Bonnie’s retirement. Bonnie never regretted her decision.

In 2018, Bonnie and her husband, along with her daughter, built houses in Mansfield, TX, next door to each other so they could spend as much time as they could together.

Bonnie had many interests- shopping, sewing, shopping, traveling, shopping, visiting friends, shopping, cooking, shopping, and making a beautiful home for her husband. Bonnie was a spitfire, but when you needed someone to take charge and get things done, or just be someone to lean on, Bonnie could always be counted on. She tore up the interstates, highways and back roads to support and visit friends and family when she was needed. Her husband and daughter wish she had stayed home a little more often.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother, Floyd Dean, who passed shortly after his birth; her oldest sister, Nancy Irene; and two nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Pullen; her daughter, Taffi Loving; step-daughter, Tracy Allison; two granddaughters, Cheyenne Pickens and Bailey Allison; an older sister, two younger brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and many long-time friends.
