On Thursday November 19, 2020, Brandie Leighanna Burt was called home to be with the Lord. Her sudden passing was the result of an untreated heart condition. She was so loved and will be so greatly missed! She was born Brandie Leanne Turnage on June 7th, 1980 to proud parents in Dallas, Texas. She was brought up by her father Steven and her mother Carrie who enjoyed watching her grow. Brandie took great part in raising her four siblings, and as the oldest tended to be the leader of the pack. Her words were always kind, and her laughter always boomed. She loved flashy jewelry and makeup, and she spent much of her time blaring country music and singing along. She changed her middle name to Leighanna simply because she thought it sounded better. She changed her last name a few times but never gave up on love. No matter what life threw at her she remained optimistic and ready for the future. She always wanted a hug, and she was always willing to share. Brandie will be missed by many and remembered affectionately for her gentle spirit. She joked that she always wanted a baby girl but was blessed with two boys, whom she loved very much. Brandie is survived by her sons Gary Chapman Jr and Raymond Burt, her mother Carrie Rayburn, her grandparents Raymond and Sharon Jones, her siblings Roxanne Turnage, Stacie Rayburn, Kellie Lee, and Jared Rayburn, many nieces and nephews, and countless extended family.
