Obituary for Caroline Sue Cozad (Barnett)

Caroline Sue Cozad, 79, of Midlothian, gained her wings on March 11, 2023. She was born in Neodesha, Kansas on January 9, 1944, and grew up and attended school in Neosho, Missouri. It was during a high school football game that she met Mike Cozad, her high school sweetheart who later became her husband. She and Mike moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, where they raised their family. Caroline's love of sunsets eventually took them to Midlothian, Texas, where their back porch offered the perfect view for watching countless beautiful sunsets.

Caroline was a homemaker until her kids were in high school. She retired from AMR as a customer service representative and then went to Vought Aircraft Industries and retired as a benefits specialist.

Caroline loved her family, loved life, and loved to giggle until her eyes filled with tears of joy. She was an avid car, dirt track racing, and NASCAR enthusiast. She was happy-go-lucky, and nothing made her feel more happy or lucky than a spirited game of Left Right Center with family. No one, not even her children or grandchildren, was more excited about Christmas morning than Caroline. She also had a life long passion for learning and expanding her mind through books.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mike Cozad; her daughter Michelle Keeney and her husband Gary; her son Michael Cozad and his wife Stacy; her grandchildren Kendall Wilson and her husband Wyatt, Kayla Rickman and her husband Waylon, Ashlyn Cozad, and Cale Cozad; and her great grandson Warren Rickman.

Flowers are welcomed, however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to Imagination Library in honor of Caroline’s love of reading. https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com/
