Carrol Lloyd Wilson, 93, of Midlothian, Texas, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2022 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with heart disease.
Lloyd was born on April 28, 1928 to Samuel Emmitt Wilson and Annie Lee Vail, in rural Ellis County outside of Venus, Texas. After Lloyd graduated from Midlothian High School in 1946, he pursued a degree in Business at North Texas Teachers College.
After graduation, he served in the U. S. Army prior to beginning his career as an accountant at Magnolia Oil and Gas, which eventually became part of Mobil Oil, where he worked for over 30 years. He retired in 1984. While he enjoyed his work, Lloyd was truly passionate about his family and leisure, so in retirement he moved back home to Alvarado, Texas and the life of a gentleman farmer.
Lloyd knew Lorna Jo Brandon almost all of her life. After all, they only lived about a mile apart off the same farm to market road out in the country. They were married in 1954 and had 3 boys, Joseph, Paul, and John.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Annie Wilson, his wife, Lorna Jo Wilson and their son, Jeffery Paul Wilson.
He is survived by his sons, Samuel Joseph and John Carrol Wilson, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
