Clayton Lewis Kelly Born December 6, 1957 Went to Heaven January 13, 2021 Clay was born in Groton, Connecticut, to Helen Marie Connelly Kelly and Charles Leroy Kelly, on the naval submarine base. He has two older brothers, Richard Craig Kelly and Michael Wayne Kelly. His family moved back to Texas as soon as the Navy would allow his mother to travel and Clay has claimed Texas everyday since. He started and finished his education in the Midlothian school system. A graduate of Midlothian High School in the infamous Class of ‘76. He played both football and basketball, round ball being his love. At 6’3” he excelled in hoops. He went on to obtain his license as a Master Electrician, which he held for more than 30 years. He also held a lifelong unofficial title of Master Fisherman. He met his wife, Cindy Anderson Kelly, married just shy of 43 years, at MHS. They shared many wonderful times in school and in the years of life they were blessed to have together. They have remained in Midlothian throughout their marriage. Clay and Cindy have two sons, one daughter in love and two grandsons. He is preceded in death by his beloved dad, Charles Leroy Kelly. He also saw the loss of grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousins. He is survived by Cindy Anderson Kelly, Daniel Kelly and wife Jorie, Patrick Kelly and Daniel’s sons, Charlie and Case, Craig Kelly, Mike Kelly and wife Pam, several nieces and nephews, mother, Helen Kelly, his Aunt Sue Ball and husband Lester, his in-laws Mary and Jim Anderson and many other relatives and beloved friends. The loss of this good man is felt by more people than he could have ever imagined. Although, the crappie and bass were not sad to see him go. The outpouring of love for his family is amazing and so very appreciated. A memorial service is planned for January 23, 2021, 2:00 pm, at the Midlothian Cemetery Pavilion. Masks are required even with an open air service. We want to see everyone who wants to be there so please abide by the MFH and CDC recommendations of wearing a mask. A box of masks will be available at the service.

Our hearts are broken and we are going to miss Clay so much. We are so thankful that we moved to 5th Street 30 years ago and met Clay and Cindy, although Gary already knew Cindy from before she moved to Midlothian, this is when they connected again and our friendship began with both of them! We have so many memories of all the times we spent together, going to eat at El Fenix downtown, playing cards, Crappie fishing,July 3rd fish fries and so many more! We were blessed beyond measure to have a Clay as our friend and for your friendship Cindy! We love you! Jan and Gary
