Obituary for Dean Edward Lackey

Dean Edward Lackey was born in Abernathy Texas 08-26-38 to OM & Florence Ruth Lackey. He was called home 11-18-22 at age 84. Married to Brenda (Gibson) 08-14-59 in Juarez Mexico – married 63 years.

Dean (Pa) was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and teacher. He spent most of his free time with family and friends. He also had an extended family of corvette racing buddies. He majored in Math and taught high school until his retirement. He spent most of his free time racing his corvettes and was a lifetime member of the Tejas Corvette Club. If he wasn’t racing, you could find him tinkering with old cars out in the barn or teaching his grandkids how to race.

You seldom saw Pa without Ma right there beside him; they were usually up to some shenanigans. Only once was Ma able to beat him at racing.

Dean was survived by his wife Brenda, children Jonna Irwin (Royce), Becky Tarner (Merle), Terry Lackey (Lynn), grandchildren Ryan Cliff (Rosa), Crystal Shaw (Matt), Grady Irwin (Sarah), Alissa Schroeder (Adam), Corey Tarner, great grandkids Allen Cliff, Abigail Cliff, Keegan Greeson, Payton Brown, Bentley Brown, Jesse Irwin, Ryken Schroeder, Dax Schroeder, Jett Schroeder, Avery Tarner, Santiago Salas, Brent Shaw, Bryant Shaw, Devon Shaw and niece Susanne Eskew (Beth).

Pa will be dearly missed by all.
