Obituary for Ervin Ray Tart

Ervin Ray Tart was born August 1, 1938. He was the middle child of seven living children, born to Lula Bell Powers and Cecil Carl Tart. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Bernice Adams, Linda Sue Hopper and Geneva Cheek, brothers Eugene Tart, Doyle Tart, and nephew John Cheek. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Sandra Gene Broome. They had 2 sons, Steven Ray Tart and Gregory Alan Tart, 2 granddaughters Dina Leann Edens (DeeDee) and Dana Michelle Tart, 2 grandsons Joshua Alan Tart and Austin Gregory Tart, 5 great grandchildren Corbin, Dylan, Caleb, Riley and Paige Morgan, 1 great-great grandchild Braylie Morgan, 1 brother Carl Tart and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas and moved to Dallas in 1955. He worked construction and various jobs including 15 years as a newspaper journeyman pressman before opening his own weather stripping business in 1980 which he ran successfully for 33 years due to his hard work and integrity. Because of health reasons he had to close. He loved hunting and taught all his sons and grandsons how to handle guns and to hunt. He was also a member of The Cowboy Church of Ellis County.
