It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Michael Carpenter (Midlothian, Texas), born 12/28/1956 in Van Horn, Texas, who passed away on January 4, 2021. George was preceded in death by his parents, Harold F Carpenter and Mattie Lorraine (Thompson) Carpenter and his brothers Robert Francis, Richard Lee, Joseph Richard and sister Margaret Ann. He is survived in death by his brother William Robert (Bill) and numerous loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. George married the love of his life, Debbie (Hassmann) Carpenter on 6/5/1976 in San Antonio, Texas. They have 3 daughters (Kim, Becky and Denise) and 1 son (Kristopher), 3 sons-in-law (Michael Youngers, Justin Bruce, Michael Stevens), 1 daughter-in-law (Mary) and 9 grandchildren (Danny, Kristopher, Zachary, Joshua, Madison, Drake, Serinity, Naomi and Gabriel). George was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who took great pride and found great joy in his family. He never missed a chance to attend sporting events, school plays, choir concerts, etc. for his children and grandchildren and could talk your ear off, bragging about their accomplishments for hours on end. In addition to those listed above, George was a father figure and mentor to so very many other people – too numerous to list – and he also took great pride in the accomplishments of these “children”. George worked at AAFES for 32 years, starting as a truck driver and retired in 2011 as Director of Plans and Technology, AAFES Logistics. At the time of his death, he was working for Trimble Transportation as a Senior Implementation and Training Consultant. George received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business from Baker College. He took great pride in his country and devoted his life to serving and supporting the Armed Forces who served our country. He was a proud member of the NRA and a vocal supporter of the 2nd Amendment.
