Obituary for Glenna Sue Scott (McWilliams)

The hearts of those who knew her are heavy with grief as they say goodbye to a beloved soul, Glenna Sue McWilliams Scott, who peacefully departed this life on July 20, 2023. Glenna was born on August 13, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, to her loving parents Glenn Ray McWilliams and Lucy Catherine Clements McWilliams.

Glenna’s life was marked by love, resilience, and the unwavering support she gave to her family and friends. She touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her passing is preceded by those who have gone before her, including her parents, Glenn Ray McWilliams and Lucy Catherine Clements McWilliams; her dear sister, Deborah Lynn McWilliams; her loving husband, Ed Harmon Scott (Scotty); and her precious great grandson, Drake Ryan Cole.

A devoted and caring mother, Glenna leaves behind a legacy of love through her three children: Terry Glenn Scott, Cathy Robin Scott Brown, and Julianne Scott Redmon. Cathy is married to Sam Brown, Terry to Patti Scott, and Juli to Ricky Redmon. She, also, leaves behind a brother, Larry McWilliams; nine grandchildren, and 20 (and a half) great-grandchildren. Glenna was the heart of her family, and her love and support were the foundation on which they stood.
The most important moments to Glenna were those spent with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She used to say, “Daddy and I have always lived for our kids, and now, our grandbabies.”

In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, Glenna was a pillar of strength and a true friend to many. Her warm smile, kind heart, and generous, gracious nature endeared her to all who knew her. She was a source of comfort in times of need and a source of inspiration to those who were blessed enough to call her a friend.

Throughout her life, Glenna loved the Lord. He guided her in all decisions, and she taught His Word to her children and grandchildren. Through Him, Glenna embraced challenges with courage and determination. She, also, found joy in the simple things, whether it was tending to her garden or exploring the great outdoors with her grandchildren. Her ability to find happiness in the little moments left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

A celebration of the life of Glenna Sue McWilliams Scott will be held on Monday, July, 24, 2023, in the pavilion at the Midlothian Cemetery.

Though she is no longer with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be kept alive through the stories we share.

As we say goodbye to Glenna, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. May she rest in eternal peace, forever embraced by the love she gave so graciously during her time with us.
