Gloria Edith (Dietman) Goth passed in her sleep on December 11, 2020, at her home in Midlothian, Texas, with her husband, Richard, by her side. One of her sons, Andrew, provided loving assistance as he was home as well. Gloria was born May 8, 1937, as the youngest of six children to Albert and Christina (Strack). Her siblings Arnold (Vivian), Eileen Theisen (Raymond), Willard (Mary Ann), and Donna Montrose (Bob) have gone to glory before her. Her sister Ann Stone Jaeger (Alvin; Tony) resides in Minnesota. Gloria and Richard's 53-year marriage nurtured five children and six grandchildren: Janet Servoss (Paul) and Jessica of Placentia, California; Mark (Amy) and Grace, Rachel, and Elias, of Timnath, Colorado; Daniel (Michelle) and Abbie of Natick, Massachusetts; Andrew of Midlothian, Texas; and Christopher (Lisa) and Sophia of San Antonio, Texas. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews also loved her like a second mom. Gloria grew up in Cold Spring, Minnesota, sneaking candy from the jars behind the counter of the family's Texaco gas station. She loved to fish beneath the Sauk River bridge, ice skate there in the winter, and help her mother tend the Victory garden while her brothers went off to WWII. She was an accomplished Curler, a gifted pianist, and a Thespian during high school at Rocori Sr. High. In 1956, Gloria entered monastic life with the Sisters of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, becoming Sr. Yvonne, although her parents' needs lead her to step back to care for them. She continued with her education at St. Ben's and earned a degree in elementary education. During this time, she met Richard through a mutual friend while waitressing over the holidays at Edina Country Club. Richard was on leave from Ft Belvoir's Engineering Officer Candidate School, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was home visiting his family near Dayton, Minnesota. During her life, Gloria was entirely devoted to God and her family. She was generous, brave, mischievous, and funny. She enjoyed gardening and often let a few plants go to bolt because they were too pretty to pick. Known by her friends as "Saint Francis in skirts”, she loved animals of all kinds, and they loved her. She was a great cook, able to whip up deliciousness with whatever was on hand without the need for a recipe. Gloria's life was full, with life-long friends in the four states she lived in. While no date is set, there will be a memorial of her life at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waxahachie, Texas, and sometime in the summer of 2021, a Christian burial in Dayton, Minnesota.
