Hector Ernesto Chapa, born April 11, 1950, in Mathis, Texas. Oldest son to Ernesto & Lousia Chapa passed on peacefully & called home to our Lord God in heaven on February 23, 2021, after battling Covid-19.

Hector worked for over 38 years in the trucking industry until his retirement at the age of 62. He was a hard-working man even after his retirement he stayed busy traveling to south Texas working on his ranch and caring for his cows. He loved spending time with family or friends whether out at the ranch or at home he always cooked or fired up the grill and loved feeding us all. He enjoyed hunting and sharing his deer blinds during deer season, dinking and caring on into the night sharing stories and laughs with anyone lucky enough to have that time with him.

He enjoyed traveling and some of his travels included regular visits to the casinos in Louisiana, Las Vegas, & Biloxi, Oklahoma, an unforgettable trip to Greece, cruise to Cozumel.
Some of his favorite pastime was playing the Texas Lotto, weekly card and domino games with his closest friends, watching the local news and Jeopardy gameshow daily.

He was a great friend to many and a great father, brother, uncle, grandfather whose love and generosity will never be forgotten. His personality was bigger than life and he always made an impression no one could ever forget. He had the biggest heart for his great-grandchildren & he was loved and adored by family and friends alike and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, his son Gino, his adopted daughter Priscilla, his two brothers and three sisters, his ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
