Obituary for James Henry Andrews

James Henry Andrews, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. He was born on July 7, 1941 in Wheeler, Texas to Sidney and Simmie Andrews. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked a long career for Eastex Papermill in Evadale, Texas. James loved all things outdoors and spending his hobbies with people he loved. James enjoyed summers fishing and winters hunting with his grandchildren Brian Jr and Schoschanna. He was inseparable with his son, Brian Sr, and often could be found right alongside him on his motorcycle as they shared a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. After James retired, he lived his fullest life through simple pleasures all revolving around his family. Fish fry for dinners at Sam Rayburn or Richland Chambers Lake filled with laughter from his sisters or great grandchildren were James’ favorite pastime. James loved nothing more than his family, and there is comfort to know that James is now reunited with his beloved parents and son who will be able to embrace once again at Heaven’s gates.

James is survived by his sisters, Frances Holland and husband Joe, Sidnette Henry and husband Bobby; his daughter-in-law, Ramona Andrews; grandchildren, Brian Jr and wife Nicole, and Schoschanna Andrews; great grandchildren, Luke, Kaleb and Carter James Andrews; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday March 26 at 10:00 am at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 North Main in Vidor.

His cremation arrangements were handled through Midlothian Funeral Home, Midlothian, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may send them to your favorite charity or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
