Obituary for Jeffrey Clay Griffith

Jeffrey Clay Griffith

September 13, 1960, to September 22, 2021

Jeffrey Clay Griffith, age 61, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2021.
The memorial service will be held at 10am on October 1st, 2021, at First Baptist Church Midlothian. Pastor Scott Martz of Living Faith Lutheran Church will be officiating.

Jeff was born in Dallas, Texas on September 13, 1960, to Thomas Franklin and Patricia Jean Chamberlain Griffith. Jeff attended Knippa High School. Shortly after high school, he met his soon to be wife, Debbie. While their marriage wouldn’t last forever as they’d hoped, Jeff and Debbie raised their three children, Michael, Tommy, and Shelby as a team until the day he departed, welcoming their granddaughter Aria in 2017.

Through family friends, Jeff met and fell in love with his second wife Terri Hensley. Terri had three children from a previous marriage – James David, Mark, and Chad – who Jeff embraced as his own.

Jeff worked as an apprentice in a small machine shop for 4 years. When the shop was bought out Jeff went to work for Lockheed Martin where he worked for 33 years. Jeff spent two years in their machine shop, 4 years in the Thermal Mechanical Test Lab and the rest of his tenure as Operator of Lockheed’s High Speed Wind Tunnel. Jeff was a devoted family man and was the happiest when spending time with family and friends, so his hobbies and interests included them. Jeff’s children and grandchildren gathered regularly at their home where Jeff maintained a large garden, horses, goats, chickens, dogs and cats, as well as everything his family needed to have a great time. He also liked to travel and watch Texas Rangers’ baseball. Attending the season openers became a family tradition.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Terri, his children, Michael, Tommy (wife Addison), Shelby, James David (wife Rebecca), Mark (wife Kesha) and Chad (wife Sumer), his grandchildren Aria, Stella, Lucy, Fletcher, Cadence, Emery, Easton, Van, Raine, and Aaron, brothers Corey (wife Priscilla), Barry (wife Laura), and Wade (wife Rebecca), and sisters, Ellen Dingmore (husband Norm), Summer Fitzgibbon (husband Michael), and Sarah Casey (husband Carl) , Aunt Ann McClure Card (husband David), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
