Obituary for Jimmie Laverne Meyer (Meyer)

Jimmie LaVerne Meyer took her walk to be with Jesus, she flew off to heaven, from her home in Midlothian Texas on January 4, 2023. She was only 63 years young when the Lord called her home.

She was born in Mansfield Texas on October 24, 1959 to Elizabeth Laverne Meyer and James "Jim" Allen Meyer. She lived in Midlothian most of her life, where she attended Midlothian schools and met her first husband Graylon Ford. Together they had one daughter, Jamie Leona. Then she met her forever soulmate, her husband of 27 years, Armando Albarado.

Together they live in Midlothian and made many memories with family and friends. She loved to have family get togethers, cook, listen to music and watch the sunset near an outdoor fire with a drink in her hand. She also loved gardening, caring for flowers and plants. She loved her family, but she loved her grandkids more.

Jimmie lived her life very selflessly, always putting others before herself. She had a heart bigger than Texas. Anyone who would come to visit her, she had something to offer; food, clothes, a snack or just a drink for the road. She was the most forgiving woman you could ever meet, never holding a grudge. Her motto in life was, "Family first & Work before play!"

Jimmie was a very dedicated, hard working lady that was a well known Frontline Cook. She spent many years in historical hometown restaurants cooking up good food. Many of those years in the kitchen were spent at Dee Tee's restaurant & Caroline's Cafe. Cooking was her passion! When she would cook, she would cook for an army. She came from a very big family. Jimmie was the middle child out of seven kids. She had three older sisters; June, Jan & Julie, and three younger brothers; James, Joe & Jon.

Jimmie LaVerne is preceded in death by her father Jim Meyer, her brothers James Meyer and Joe Meyer and her beloved dog Muttley.

Jimmie is survived by her Mother Elizabeth LaVerne Meyer, her husband Armando Albarado, her daughter Jamie Leona Girard, her son in law James Girard, her grandkids Jacob Burk, Jarod Girard, Trenton Morris, Joshua Morris & wife Hailey, and Shawnee Morris & fiance Dustin Ballard, 7 great grandchildren & one on the way; as well as her only living brother Jon Meyer & wife Trisha, and her 3 sisters, June Schauer & husband Dave, Julie Davis & husband Danny, and Jan Nitsch. She also has several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews she was very close to.
