Obituary for Jorge Antonio "George" Castorena

Jorge “George” Castorena passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 57 in his home in Midlothian, Texas on May 10th, 2023. He was born on July 5th, 1965 in El Paso, Texas to Manuela and Jorge Castorena.

He met the love of his life, Monica Serrano, when he was 16 years old. Through thick and thin, they remained together and were married on October 19th, 1991. They had two children, Marcelina and George before moving to Colorado. They spent 21 years in Colorado where he continued his love for golf and then discovered a love for skiing, running, biking, and shooting. He re-discovered his passion for music and trumpet-playing after his children followed in his footsteps and also became trumpet players. The family moved to Midlothian, Texas in 2017. He refined his golfing skills and even had the privilege to attend the Masters with his most trusted coworkers at BFS. He loved to cook and was known for his spicy salsa that people from all over the world got to experience and enjoy.

George was an extraordinary father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He was the perfect role model for his children, and the perfect soul mate for his wife. Those that knew him knew that he was someone who was there for them, and someone who had their back. He was an exceptionally hard worker, and a man of true integrity. His name will be carried on with pride, and his memories will be cherished until the end of time.

George was proceeded in death by his father, Jorge Castorena who died in 1994.

George is survived by his wife Monica Castorena, their two children Marcelina
