Obituary for Joy Lynn Hitchcock (Pritchett)

Joy Lynn Hitchcock went home to Jesus on June 10, 2021 at the age of 89.

Joy was born to James Lynn and Clorine Pritchett on December 8, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. Joy had a passion for life, her family, her work, fashion, art and poetry. Joy wrote hundreds of original poems and songs that will live on forever.

Joy was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Joy loved making friends, staying actively involved in her church and serving in various volunteer roles around the community. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Joy joins her husband Freddie “Jim” Hitchcock, her beloved daughter Nellynn Pollock, her parents, James Lynn and Clorine Pritchett, and her brothers, Billy Gene Pritchett, Kenneth Dale Pritchett and James William Pritchett, in Heaven.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Nelson and Karen Coffman, her sister, Sadie Nutting, her grandchildren, Johnny Pollock Jr, James “Jake” and Lynnsi Pollock, Jody and Gabe Volf, Kasey and Robbie Walker, Justin and Krystal Coffman, Kirk and Melissa Coffman and sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Joy spent her life sowing into others and leaves behind a great legacy that will live on in our hearts forever.
