Obituary for Julie Lee Cooley (Sanders)

Julie Lee Sanders Cooley passed away unexpectedly on November 7,2022. She was born in Mansfield, Texas on Mother’s Day May 14, 1961 to Tony and Linda Sanders. She graduated from Midlothian High School in 1979. Julie worked her way through college as a dispatcher for Midlothian Police Department in pursuit of her calling. Julie was called to be a caretaker and graduated from Navarro College with her nursing degree.

She had a special healing presence and a knack for caring for the elderly. She was a nurse in several facilities around Midlothian and the surrounding areas. Families would seek out Julie’s location when placing their loved ones.
Julie was also a very talented musician. Her voice could soothe your soul and she could play any instrument she picked up. She was chosen to tour Europe in High School with Wind Band Orchestra; led the MHS band as Drum Major; taught music and gave guitar lessons to many local youth and adults; she played handbells and sang with the choir for the First United Methodist Church, Midlothian.

Always active in anything her Grandkids were doing “Bobo” was the number 1 fan at the soccer field, baseball diamond and the volleyball court.

Julie was preceded in death by her Mom, Linda Webb Sanders. She is survived by her father Tony Sanders. Her sisters Jamie Wickliffe , and husband Gerald and Jenny Sanders, and partner Teri Tanner. Her Children Lori and Tony Cooley and his wife Ashley. Her Grandchildren Dakota Dean Barton, Hailee Erin Cooley and Emily Skye Cooley and multiple nieces and nephews.
