Obituary for June Weigle Allen (Weigle)

June Weigle Allen was born to Loyal and May Weigle on June 5, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania. She left for her heavenly home on November 8, 2022. June was a coal miner’s daughter growing up in southwest Pennsylvania. In 1943, she went off to Anderson College in Anderson, IN where she studied English and Education. It was there that she met her husband, Jack. They were married on September 1, 1947. Jack used to joke that he was married on Labor Day and never stopped working since. Their oldest son, Jerry, was born as they were finishing college. After graduation, Jack and June served as pastors in Churches of God in Orange, McAllen, San Angelo, and Brownsville, Texas. Later, they moved to central and south California where the next two members of the family, Judy and John, were born. Jack and June served as pastors in Laton, CA. It was in California that June began her career in education. In 1964, the family moved to Duncanville, TX, and June went to work as an elementary teacher and later a librarian in Duncanville ISD. She retired in 1988. She enjoyed traveling and taking scenic routes. This included going to North Dakota on the way to seeing friends in California. This was the national park trip. In another trip, she went to Maine on the way to visit her sister in Florida. The family also took a tour of Six Flags amusement parks in Missouri, Georgia, and Houston before realizing the best park was in Arlington. June and Jack traveled to all 50 states, and they also visited Russia and Australia.

June was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Lawrence, Eleanor, Rhoda, Orpha, Coral, her husband, Jack, and her daughter, Judy.
