Obituary for Karen Kaye Hopkins

Karen Kaye Hopkins, 72, of Midlothian, Texas passed away November 29, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Dale and Wanda Smith, June 7, 1948, in Dallas, Texas. Karen is survived by her two children, Daughter Tammy Bentley and her husband Chris , her Son Mark Hopkins and his wife Marianne, and three Grandchildren Kaylee Bentley, Riley Hopkins, and Olivia Hopkins. She is also survived by her Sister, Brenda Anderson, and her husband Leif, her Brothers Daubrey Smith and Kevin Smith. She will be missed by her Step Grandchildren, Jason and Brandon Bentley, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, many cousins and friends. Karen was welcomed to heaven by her Parents, Dale and Wanda Smith and Grandson, Aidan Hopkins. Karen was a retired professional marketing director, who helped establish several medical businesses in the DFW Metroplex. While she held many titles throughout her career, no matter how successful she was, she always said her favorite titles were Mom and Nana/Mimi. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals and desserts for her family. She also enjoyed her pets, feeding the fish at her pond, riding her golf cart with her grandchildren, spending time with her family, karaoke, watching classic movies, dining out, and enjoying everything from Elvis to a diet cherry limeade from Sonic with extra ice. She will be deeply missed and will always be loved to the moon and back. Family Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 12:00 pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm at the Midlothian Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at Laurel Land Cemetery.
