Obituary for Kent Douglas Young

Kent Young, born December 9th, 1954 in Dallas to Mary and Richard Young passed peacefully on August 22nd, 2022.

A 1973 Bishop Dunne graduate, Kent was quickly employed by Southwestern Bell where he was a dedicated employee for 29 years. He later became a Horned Frog fan due to his employment for TCU over the last 20 years. Kent was often spotted dotting his purple and frequenting TCU football, and baseball games.

Kent was an avid golfer, “name that tune” extraordinaire and a master of the “Dad Jokes”. If he was not found out on the green perfecting his golf swing he was out making stops at his children’s houses or attending his grandchildren’s functions, beaming with pride. He will be remembered most by his friendly nature and ability of knowing no stranger. He loved to make you laugh and was always up for a good time.

Kent is survived by the prides and joy of his life, his four children; son Joshua Young of Frisco, daughter Devon Baker and husband Chris of Midlothian, daughter Hailey Crawford and husband Caden of Burleson, and daughter Madison Lloyd and husband Grant of Cedar Hill. His six grandchildren Aubrey, Everett, Kinsley, Gunner, Landry and Laken; and his 5 brothers: Mike, Chris, Steve, Bruce, and Brett. He is preceded by his parents Mary and Richard Young.

Celebration of Life will be held September 10th at The Boxcar located at 2222 W Bear Creek Rd, Cedar Hill, TX from 10 am – 2 pm.
