Kirby Neil Middleton was born October 17, 1961 to Mel and Sue (Holbrook) Middleton in Louisville, KentuckY. He left his earthly home on November 3, 2022 following a remarkably courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, he was 61 years old.
When Kirby was just a boy, their family moved to Tucson Arizona where he grew up. after graduating High School in 1979, Kirby Served in the US Navy before jumping full force in to minor league baseball. It was also Tucson that brought Kirby his true love, Angie Inman, they were married in 1981. kirby and angie left Tucson in 1988 and moved to Texas where they would settle and raise their 2 daughters Lindsey and Amber.
Kirby was a born salesman. He was a negotiator, interviewer and closer, a true people person. you can’t teach what Kirby had, he never met a stranger, and with one encounter, he knew you and you felt it. Kirby used his talent early on to cultivate a successful career with Interstate Battery that lasted 17 years. In 1998 Kirby made a career change and took his talents on the road, in a tour bus. This magical mystery tour took this man, a lover of all things music, to all corners of the world. It was a journey fueled by his unique personality which often made him almost as popular as the artists he supported. Everyone, everywhere, knew Kirby. Watching him work his magic was entertaining for the man could and would say anything, and it just worked. Kirby loved his work, and even during his 3 year Battle with cancer, he found ways to stay engaged and creatively relevant, right up into his untimely death. He also found time, while fighting for his life, to lend his skills and talent to The Railroaders Baseball team and the benefits from that endeavor were mutualy felt.
Family was everything to Kirby. He loved Angie and the girls more than words, but becoming POPs was likely Kirby’s most favorite gift. He adored those grands and attending their games, recitals and activities were his top priority. He affectionately called them, his monkeys.
Kirby was preceded in death by his father Mel, mother Sue, and big brother Tinsley. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Angie, daughters Lindsey Gaydos, Amber Mize (Zach) grandchildren Kaycie & Garrett Gaydos, Halle, Connor and Matthew Mize, Lois Middleton, sisters in law Alyssa Middleton, and Beth Taylor, his chosen son Luis Figueroa, And YOU, his faithful friends and chosen family.
