Obituary for Laqueta Ann Whitfield (Kile)

Laqueta Ann Whitfield, 69, long-time resident of Midlothian, Texas, passed away in Midlothian on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Laqueta was born on March 31, 1953, in Olney, Texas. She was the oldest of two girls born to Don and Marqueta Kile. She enjoyed living life, serving God and family. She devoted her life to her husband, girls, and grandsons. She loved traveling with her husband. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Midlothian.

Laqueta graduated from Archer City High School in 1971. She was a stay-at-home mom for the first 20 years of her marriage. She worked at Trinity Christian School for 7 years starting as a clerk in the high school office and finishing as the Superintendent’s secretary. She worked at the Internal Revenue Service for 10 years starting out as a Group Secretary and finishing as a National Program Analyst. She had the innate ability to solve difficult problems and soothe ruffled feathers.

She is preceded in death by her father, Don Kile.

Laqueta is survived by James, her loving husband of 51 years, two daughters: Kelly Andrews (Cort ) of Kerens, Texas, and Shannon Thomas (Samuel) of Cedar Hill, Texas; three grandsons: Zackry , Warner, and Gilbert Thomas all of Cedar Hill, Texas, mother: Marqueta Perkins of Wichita Falls, Texas; and sister: Sue Cardon (Joe) of Elgin, Oklahoma; and many nieces and cousins.
