On Monday, November 15, 2021, Linda Sue Clark, aged 65, passed away after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Linda Sue Clark was born on November 1,, 1956, in Cleburne Texas to James Alton and Aurora Perez Cheek. In 1974, she graduated from Cleburne High school, where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Thomas Leeds Clark. Linda and Tom married in 1976 and moved to Midlothian, TX where they built their family. In 1979, Linda welcomed her first son, Thomas Leeds Clark II, and in 1983, she welcomed her second son, Christopher Steven Clark. Linda and Tom spent the rest of their days in Midlothian.
Linda was blessed to be a lifelong homemaker to her beloved husband and full-time mom to her two boys, as well as a second mom to many of the boys’ friends. From school projects, to field trips, school dances, fundraising, little league sports, birthday parties, and project graduations, Linda was not only there with and for both her boys, but she did it all with such grace...smiling and laughing the entire way. Becoming a grandmother was another true blessing and highlight of her role as “Granny.” Linda was the best grandmother to her four grandkids and thoroughly enjoyed cooking and planning play dates with them. Linda loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Cooking for her family was her love language. She loved lining the grandkids up around the table and feeding them her famous meatloaf. Asking her for a recipe of any kind would make her day.
Linda also had a big place in her heart for her girlfriends and all the trips they shared together on a yearly basis. She was always up for adventure and enjoyed planning trips with them. They took trips together for over 25 years and made priceless memories.
Her biggest passion in life besides being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was antiques. She loved going to garage sales to find “new old things” and she spent a lot of her time in Old Town Village in Waxahachie, TX, buying and selling her antiques. Linda had an eye for finding just the right piece at the right price. She spent weekends filling her antique booth with treasures for all to enjoy.
She loved the holidays and decorated her house accordingly. Christmas was by far her favorite and during the season it wasn’t uncommon to spot at least 6 or 7 different trees decorated beautifully throughout her home and her yard with antique lighted blow molds.
Linda was known for her infectious smile and contagious laugh, her positive and loving personality, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. She will truly be missed.
Linda Sue Clark was preceded in death by her husband; Tom Clark, her father; James Alton Cheek and her brother; Jimmy Cheek. She is survived by her son; Thomas Leeds Clark II – wife; Jennifer, her son; Christopher Steven Clark - wife; Stacy, her mother; Aurora Cheek, her sister; Gloria Chick, her grandkids; William, Griffin, Jayden, and Presley, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial is scheduled for 6pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Midlothian Funeral Home in Midlothian, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manna House on her behalf.
