Obituary for Melode Seremet (Farrell)

It is with great sadness that the family of Melode Seremet announces her unexpected passing on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 62 years. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She will also be lovingly remembered for her gift of uplifting others and her beautiful passion for animals.

Born in Winchester, Virginia, Melode spent her childhood in the south moving between Virginia, Mississippi and Florida with her parents, and had fond memories of living above her parents’ flower shop. Her early career as an IT Analyst at a hospital in Stuart, FL is where she met and fell in love with her husband Stan, and a few years later brought their daughter into the world. In 1993, they moved to Texas where she spent countless hours pouring herself into the community in which they lived, including her involvement on the board at the local library, activity director for the chamber of commerce, and volunteering for the school district. Years later, Melode had a God-inspired dream that would combine her love of animals with her passion for serving the community, and she returned to school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician to gather the knowledge to support this dream. In 2007, the vision became reality and Paws for Reflection Ranch began operations. Her dedication, hard work, and ability to bring people together has made the organization what it is today, a pillar of support that has impacted thousands of members of the community to provide a place of comfort and healing. Melode brought such warmth, kindness and compassion to this world. Her friendship, mentorship and guidance, as well as her contagious laughter and heartfelt hugs will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her dedication to serving others, Melode always kept her family first with her nurturing love and support. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 34 years, Stan; daughter Mandy Davis and son-in-law Bryce Davis; granddaughter Chloe Davis; and numerous friends and relatives. She will also be missed by the staff and volunteers of Paws for Reflection Ranch, including the 35 horses and other ranch animals.
