Obituary for Modena Gay Beames (Burns)
Modena Gay Beames was born April 9th 1942 in Bokchito, OK. The daughter of Marvin & Genevieve Burns, she lived in Denison with her parents and brothers, Carmack and Joe Don, until she married Glen Beames of Bokchito, OK on April 6th 1959. Glen and Modena moved to Venus, TX in 1960 where they raised their 3 sons; Terre, Daren & Eric.
Modena graduated from Venus HS in 1960, and began working for Venus ISD as the secretary to the superintendent in 1971 when the district had a total of 100 students. Modena retired from Venus ISD in 2002 after 30 years of service.
Modena is predeceased by her mother & father, brother, Carmack Burns, and her husband, Glen.
She is survived by her brother, Joe Don Burns, of Denison , OK, Terre Beames and wife, Corine, of Grand Prairie, Daren Beames of Venus, and Eric Beames and wife, Lisa, of Palestine. She leaves behind her grandchildren Ashleigh King of Roanoke, Daren Beames ll of Fort Worth, Garrett Beames of Austin, Courtney Beames of Fort Worth, Tarra Beames of Missouri, and Erika Beames of Irving, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
