Pauline Atchley peacefully passed on to meet her Lord and be with her family that preceded her on Tuesday morning February 16, 2021. Pauline Arenita Atchley was born on March 6, 1929 in McDonald, TN. Pauline moved to Grand Saline, TX in 2006 to be near her daughter and her family and they relocated back to Midlothian just a year ago.

Pauline is preceded in death by her first husband John P Austin and second husband Lee Atchley, youngest son J Stephen Austin, parents Carl and Edna Blair, Brother Charles Blair, Son-in-Law Henry Thompson, daughter-in-law Karen Austin and grand-daughter Katrina McCalley.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Sarah Dimple Blair of Ooltewah; TN, Doris “Dot” Griffith of Cleveland, TN; Deborah “Brenda” Wilson of McDonald, TN; a brother Edward Blair of Apison, TN; her daughter Paulette Thompson of Midlothian, TX; son John Edward Austin of Waterford, CA; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Pauline’s life spanned more than 9 decades across Texas, Tennessee and Alabama. She was a strong and courageous woman who overcame a lot of adversity and loss in her life but through a strong faith in her lord she overcame them to live a long and full life. “Polly” as she was affectionally referred was loved by many family members and friends but was especially known for being a loving “Nana” to all of her grandkids. Toward the end of her life Polly talked frequently about seeing her son, parents and other loved ones again. She will be greatly missed but has left a lasting legacy of many memories and stories.
