Richard Glenn Askins was born March 6, 1954 in Fort Worth, TX to Richard Lee Askins and Cleo Anna Herring Askins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Lee Askins.

Survivors include his brother James Ray Askins, daughters Amanda Leigh Linder and Rebecca Ann Askins, granddaughters Jade Nicole Taylor, Taryn Ashleigh Peay, Alyssa Celeste Linder. Great grandchildren Mila Rose Williams and Xander Wolfe Casillas.
