Obituary for Richard Wayne "Ricky T" Thomas
Richard Wayne Thomas passed away peacefully in his home in Midlothian, Texas on May 22, 2023, surrounded by family. “Ricky T” was born January 16, 1959 in Waxahachie, Texas to Johnny Wayne Thomas and Melba Lane.
He attended Midlothian High School and was a long time employee of Elliott Electric.
His hobbies included playing and writing music, cooking, fishing, restoring classic cars, and building model cars and planes. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and “pickin” with the band.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wayne Thomas and brother, Billy Von Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandi Thomas, daughter Brandi Roland and husband Dana, son Chris Kirk and wife Elizabeth, daughter Hillary Dugas and husband Richard, mother Melba Lane, sister Julie Prescher and husband Darrell, brother Jeffery Thomas, niece Nichole Fuentes, nephew Colton Bird and wife Ashley, grandchildren Connor, MacKenzie, Kolby, Kaylee, Jaxon, Samuel, great grandson Lance, and great nephews Ryan and Aydin.
Ricky T is mourned by many friends and family. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
To celebrate Ricky T's life, the family has planned a visitation on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Midlothian Funeral Home. A service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11 am in the Chapel of Midlothian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
