Obituary for Robert Louis Morris

Robert Louis Morris, Jr was born on November 10, 1950, in Irving, Texas to Robert Morris Sr. and Rose Morris. He passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, after a long battle with vascular dementia.

Robert grew up in Irving, but they moved to Paris, Texas before his senior year. He graduated from Paris High School in 1969. He received an accounting degree from Dallas Baptist University in 1973. Robert spent his career with the Federal Government working in the Social Security Administration and then retiring from their IT department in 2009. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling overseas and to Colorado.

Robert Morris married Teresa Wilcox in June 1972 and they had two children together: daughter, Kelly Ceritelli and son, John Morris. They moved to Desoto, Texas in 1982, and by 1983 he began his new journey in life as the head coach for both of his kids’ soccer and basketball teams. If he wasn’t coaching one of his kids, he was always in the stands loudly cheering them on.

In November 1992, Robert Morris married Stella Magers and they resided in DeSoto, Texas. With this marriage he gained two stepdaughters, Lana and Angie Magers. Robert and Stella were married until Stella’s passing in 2020.

He is preceded in death by his wife Stella Morris, his parents Robert and Rose Morris, his sister Pat Berryhill and his niece Jennifer McFadden. He leaves behind his daughter Kelly Morris-Ceritelli and husband Michael Ceritelli and grandkids Addison, Kara and Nicholas Ceritelli; his son John Morris and his partner Liz Serrano, his sister Betty Kay Taylor and husband Steve Taylor, his sister Teri Brooks and husband Richard Brooks, nieces and nephew and his stepdaughters Lana and Angie Magers.

Robert’s funeral services will be held at 5pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Midlothian Funeral Home located at 200 E Avenue East, Midlothian, TX 76065.
