Obituary for Shane Denee Upchurch (Upchurch)

Shane Denee’ Upchurch passed away January 24, 2021. She was born on November 7, 1966 to William Jr and Paulette Burton in Dallas, Texas. She attended Midlothian High School where she was Drill Team Manager. She married her loving husband of 32 years, Curtis Upchurch on March 25, 1989. They raised their 4 children in Midlothian. She moved to Waxahachie in 2002. She began volunteering for the Ellis County SPCA and would go on to be the Head Vet Tech and Shelter Manager. She retired from the SPCA in 2012. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, and collecting dragons, owls, and clothes. She loved going to Galveston and walking the beach to collect shells with the grandkids. Her biggest passion was being Nanny. She was proud to tell anyone who would listen that she had 16 grandchildren, 3 of which belong to her sister Missy. Shane was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents William Sr. and Lilly Larue Burton, her maternal grandparents Thomas Leroy and Shirley Roten, adopted grandmothers Granny Lois and Granny Dee, her sister Melissa “Missy” Rodriguez Greene, and her granddaughter Brystol Lynn Hollabaugh. Shane is survived by her loving husband Curtis Upchurch, her daughter Jamie Rowl and husband Torrence, their children Makayla and Braylen, her son Brandon Hollabaugh and wife Sara, their children Hunter, Payton, Kainen, Paxton, and Marshall, her son Zack Upchurch and wife Bekka, their children Austin, Landon and Grayson, and son Tyler “Pete” Upchurch and wife Katie, and their children Abbott and Addison, and Missy’s grandchildren who she treated as her very own, Brody, Max and Abel. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, many other beloved family members, adopted family member and friends. Shane was loved by so many and she loved them all unconditionally.
