Obituary for Susan Cooper

Susan passed away at home on May 8, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was the definition of a strong woman. She was born in Carnegie, OK and grew up in Eagle Pass, Texas. She enjoyed playing basketball and became fluent in Spanish at a young age. In the early 1970's she relocated to Dallas, TX. She met her soon to be husband Danny Cooper in the mid 1970's. In 1978 she gave birth to Daniel Cooper Jr. She was a dedicated mother and wife. Danny and Susan owned a pool hall and later a restaurant. She also worked in the grocery business for a number of years. She also managed a restaurant for her son before retiring. She was a tireless worker, sometimes working three jobs while raising her son. She would help others regularly. If she recognized a friend or even a complete stranger in need of help, she would do anything she could for them. After retiring, she spent most of her time camping and fishing with Danny. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Cain, brother, Blane Radford, sister Carolyn Lamaster, and brother Cary Radford. She is survived by her husband Danny Cooper, son Daniel Cooper Jr., sister Julie Widemon, and cousins Dayna Laverentz and Delorse Daniels. She will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew her.
