Obituary

Trena L. Mayfield, 65, of Midlothian, TX passed away on April 30, 2021 at her home after a four-year battle with cancer. Visitation with the family to celebrate her life will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at Midlothian Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm.
Trena was born in Pampa, TX on February 27, 1956, daughter of the late Volney and Frances (Rutherford) Day. She was a 1974 graduate of Eastland High School prior to receiving her teaching certificate from McMurry University majoring in Art with a minor in History.

Trena had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh and was loved by all. She loved all her animals, being at the lake, and vacationing in Colorado. Her greatest blessings were her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Stan Mayfield of Midlothian, TX; her children Kris Stansell and his wife Chea of Waxahachie, TX, Marie Andrle and her husband Mike of Midlothian, TX, and Amanda Perdue and her husband Mike of Maypearl, TX; sister Kaye Smith and husband John; grandchildren, Whitney and Jessica Stansell, Hailey, Katelynn and Sarah Andrle, Bailey Hinson, Evah Mayfield, Maci and Case Perdue; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

My special memories of Trena were when we lived in Monahans. She was my first very best friend. I lived across the street from her pink cinderblock house that I loved to visit. We would play with her toys, swing on the swing set her daddy built, and before I moved, played kickball in her backyard. We kept up with each other through letters and long overdue visits. The last overnight visit was in Abilene when Kris was a baby. Heaven gained a very special angel. I will always have a special place for you Trena in my heart. I hope you meet my husband up there in Heaven, you would have loved him.
