Obituary for Velia Vargas (Romero)
Velia was born on August 3, 1933 in La Vernia, Texas. She passed away at her home in Midlothian on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Velia enjoyed several hobbies – sewing, cooking, crocheting, gardening, was an avid reader and enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos.
She had two beloved pets, her cats Lucas and Ivy for many years.
Velia is survived by her husband Rafael Vargas and stepdaughter Kathryn Vargas, sisters Rachel Horton, Elizabeth Patterson (husband Shawn) and Ruth Romero (husband Bob Broshears) niece Rita Mhando, nephews Richard Scott (wife Angela), Monte Scott (wife Rachael), Elias Romero Jr. (wife Cynthia) and Steven Romero (wife Vanessa) great nephews Ryan Scott, Charlie Scott, Caleb Scott, Abraham Romero, and Oliver Romero, great nieces Natalie Scott, Sadie Scott, Britney Romero, and Charlotte Romero. Great great nephew Omarion Scott.
Velia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Tabita Romero, brother Elias Romero, and sister Sarah Romero Zamora.
A celebration of Life Service will be held on May 8th at 3:00 at Midlothian Funeral Home. (Masks optional)
