Obituary for Vicky Rochelle Yeargan (Bruns)

Vicky Yeargan, age 78, passed away November 4, 2021 in Midlothian, Texas, after a long illness.

Vicky loved to read and garden, and loved all animals, great and small. For most of her life she was known for her independent spirit and strong will, only slowing down when her illness overcame her. Vicky grew up in Hill City, Minnesota and Sigourney, Iowa. She earned her nursing degree, then served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam. After her discharge from the Army, Vicky worked as a registered nurse in Dallas, Texas, before retiring from St. Paul Medical Center at the age of 57.

Vicky met and married the love of her life, Randall “Randy” Yeargan, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in 1965. They were married for 44 years, until Randy’s death in 2009. Together, they raised three children and built a life in Duncanville, Texas. Vicky is survived by her children and grandchildren, Lisa Hendricks (husband Ryan and son Zachary), Catherine Yeargan, and Michael Yeargan (wife Brandy, daughter Hania, and sons Ander and Keller).

Vicky lived an extraordinary life, one of love and service, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Vicky’s love of animals, please donate to the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
