Obituary

On November 15th, 1937, Walter Lee Stice was born to Bertie Lee and Laura Stice in Tahoka, Texas. He was the oldest of three children.

Walter was a committed follower and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a long-time cowboy and outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, travel, and serve on short-term mission trips. He faithfully served as a deacon and music director at Calvary Baptist Church in Midlothian, Texas off and on for 47 years.

He worked for power line construction periodically for 40 years, worked at multiple ranches including the T-bar Ranch in Tahoka, Texas, and was still running a vending route and tending cattle and horses at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Nedra ‘Faux-ma’ Stice, siblings Vestie Ann Oliver, and Kenneth Stice, children Debbie Elaine Hayes of Greensboro, NC, Scottie Joe and spouse Judy Stice of Waxahachie, Tx, Marty Wade Stice of Hobbs New Mexico, and Tracy Jane and spouse Larry Talley, of Maypearl, Tx, step sons Judge Tom Young of Orlando, Fl, and Tim Young and wife Lora of Claude, Tx, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce ‘Mammy’ Stice, son Randy Stice, and grandson Derek Barringer.

He was 83 years old at the time of his death on Sunday March 28th, 2021.

Because of his love for missions, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to:
North American Mission Board
PO Box 116543
