Obituary for William Glen "Bill" Major

William “Bill” Glen Major was born at home in Venus, Texas, on January 13, 1939 and passed away Thursday, January 28th, 2021 at his home in Midlothian. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann, and his two daughters, Kim Causey of Rowlett, and Martee Adams Sepulvado of Midlothian. He also leaves behind three grandchildren - Clay Causey of Gilmer, Zachary Adams of Dallas and Calley Causey of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roby & Hettie Major of Waxahachie and his sister, Pat Presley of Waxahachie. Bill grew up in the Waxahachie/Howard area and attended Bardwell schools. At the age of 14 he began working as a mechanic, learning skills that would serve him all his life. He was employed in the maintenance department of Burleson Honey for over 40 years. When Bill wasn’t working, he used his knowledge and skills to build race cars and even competed at Green Valley Raceway, Dallas International Speedway, and other local tracks. He was proudest of his orange rear-end dragster that he built from the ground up with his best friend, Sam McAda. In 1967 he met Ann Foster, a single mother of two daughters, and they were married December 9, 1972. Bill often said, “Those three girls saved my life.” Bill and Ann moved from Waxahachie to Midlothian in 1985. Bill frequently commented he could never have imagined living in a home like the one they built in Midlothian – and he gave all the credit to Ann. If you were to ask people who knew Bill to describe him, you would most likely hear: • Hard working • Honest • Family oriented • Great sense of humor • Best mechanic in Ellis County
