Obituary

Eldon Ray Kiser peacefully passed into God’s loving arms on February 16, 2021 at Midlothian HealthCare Center. Eldon was born on March 13, 1946 to Rubin and Ruth Kiser in Winters, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Mark Kiser, Reba Jo Hord, Rubin Leon Kiser and Mary Jane Blackshear.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, humor, respecting everyone he came in contact with, never meeting a stranger, and knowing there is value in everything, even junk.
After serving in the Navy in Vietnam in the mid-1960s, Eldon worked in the oil field and then in the cable TV and telephone industries for many years. He and his wife, Sylvia, owned their own cable business for a time. Before retiring, he realized his dream of being an owner/operator of an 18-wheel big rig. He and Sylvia were able to travel throughout Texas and some of the western states.
Eldon is survived and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 40 years, Sylvia, as well as by his daughter, Samantha Hamilton, and her children: Zachary Hamilton and his wife, Leanna, and their son, Partick; Tabitha Hamilton; and Spencer Hamilton. Eldon dearly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed teaching them.
Eldon is also survived by three other children and their families: Angela Snyder, David Kiser and Michael Bailey, and by two older sisters, Dorothy Rinn and Jackie Raborn, both of Ballinger, Texas. Eldon leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him very much and always keep him in their hearts.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no ceremony at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Eldon’s name to a charity of your choice or to one of Eldon’s favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
