Obituary

Jessica Leigh Brantley passed away on October 29, 2020, at the age of 39. She was born in Dallas, TX on June 15, 1981, to Hal and JoRhea Lasater. She grew up in Midlothian, TX and graduated from Midlothian High School. She married Lance Brantley on June 19, 1998; and they have 5 children together – Breka (21), Gage (18), Nolan (16), and twins, Corbin and Larkin (14). Jessica’s greatest joy was raising her children. Family was very important to her, as were family gatherings and holidays. She adored her older brother, Anthony Edmiston and her niece, RheaLynn. She loved being a part of a large, blended family, and always emphasized having all of the family, including her step-brothers and step-sister, together at holiday gatherings. She loved to cook, and gives much credit to her dad for her cooking skills. She also enjoyed animals and being outdoors, including fishing, swimming, cook-outs, ATV parks, and boating. She loved going to Lake Fork, TX, with her dad and step-mom, Lisa Lasater, and going crappie fishing; and she especially loved the fish fries that followed. She loved spending time with friends. She cherished her life-long friends, to which she was fiercely loyal; and was always making new friends. She had an infectious laugh, and always liked to keep things light and funny. She was most proud of her children; they were her everything. She made a point to take pictures of all of their milestone moments, especially 1st day of school, every year. Her most treasured time was a recent beach vacation, where all of her children were together with her. Jessica was preceded in death by her mother, JoRhea Lasater, of Midlothian, TX, her maternal grandparents, Alton Ray and Jo Patton, of Houston, TX, paternal grandparents, Hulon and Mayvis Lasater, of Gorman, TX, uncle, Gene Rodgers, of Midlothian, TX and aunt, Jean Lasater, of Gorman, TX. She is survived by her children, Breka Brantley, Gage Brantley, Nolan Brantley, Corbin Brantley and Larkin Brantley, of Midlothian, TX, her father, Hal Lasater, and stepmom, Lisa Lasater, of Waxahachie, TX, brother, Anthony Edmiston, and partner, Celena McCray, of Italy, TX, step-brothers, Aaron Tamez and wife, Jessica, of Waxahachie, TX, Sean Tamez, and wife, Kristen, of Midlothian, TX, Joseph Tamez, and wife, April, of Waxahachie, TX, step-sister, Lauren Tamez, and partner, Alexi Howland, of Royal Oak, MI, aunt, Lou Evelyn Rodgers of Midlothian, TX, uncle, Brent Lasater, of Gorman, TX, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov 4, at Cowboy Church of Ellis County, in Waxahachie, TX, and will be officiated by Dr. Rick Davis, who also baptized Jessica and her brother, as children, and who officiated Jessica’s wedding.
